Nouri al-Maliki Condemns US Interference in Iraq’s Internal Affairs Following Trump’s Veto

Nouri al-Maliki, head of Iraq’s State of Law Coalition, has strongly opposed US interference in Iraq’s domestic affairs, calling it a violation of sovereignty and an infringement on the Coordination Framework’s decision-making process for the prime ministerial candidate.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Nouri al-Maliki, the leader of Iraq‘s State of Law Coalition, has issued a sharp rebuke against what he described as blatant US interference in Iraq’s internal affairs. His statement came in response to President Donald Trump’s veto regarding the selection of Iraq’s prime ministerial candidate.

Al-Maliki emphasized that Iraq firmly rejects any external meddling, which he views as a direct violation of the country’s sovereignty. He stated that such actions undermine the Coordination Framework’s authority in deciding the next prime minister.

The Iraqi leader asserted that dialogue, not dictation or threats, should be the foundation of international relations. He reaffirmed his commitment to respecting national will and advancing Iraq’s supreme interests in line with the Coordination Framework’s mandate.

This strong stance follows Trump’s veto against al-Maliki’s potential appointment as prime minister, escalating tensions between Iraq and the US over sovereignty and political autonomy.
