Russia Downs 18 Ukrainian Drones Amid Ongoing Conflict

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Russia‘s Ministry of Defense reported that its air defense systems successfully tracked and neutralized 18 Ukrainian drones during overnight operations. The engagements occurred across multiple regions, including Bryansk, Crimea, and the Black Sea.
This latest military action comes amid heightened tensions between Russia and Ukraine, which have been ongoing since 2022 when Russia initiated its special military operation in Ukraine. The conflict has seen repeated drone incursions and countermeasures by both sides.
Russian President Vladimir Putin had recognized the independence of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics in 2022, criticizing Western involvement in the region. This move prompted increased Western sanctions against Russia and accelerated military aid to Ukraine.
