Kremlin Applauds Indirect Talks Between Iran and United States Hosted in Oman

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Russian Presidential Administration issued an official statement on Friday welcoming the start of indirect consultations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States of America taking place in Oman. The statement follows reports published by Mehr News Agency regarding the ongoing high-level diplomatic activity.
The Kremlin affirmed that Moscow calls upon all parties engaged in these consultations to maintain political restraint. Russian officials emphasized their profound hope that these negotiations, currently underway in Muscat, will achieve beneficial outcomes and facilitate a reduction in existing regional strains.
The indirect engagements between Tehran and Washington officially commenced on Friday, February 6, 2026, with Oman serving as the host and mediator. The primary focus of these consultations is centered on the nuclear issue.
Prior to the commencement of the talks, the spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs had posted a message on the X social media platform, confirming that the Foreign Minister’s visit to Muscat was aimed at powerful diplomatic engagement and securing an equitable and honorable understanding to safeguard the interests of the Iranian nation and uphold peace and tranquility in the region.
