Hungary Calls for Immediate Lifting of Russia Oil and Gas Sanctions

Hungary has formally requested the European Union to lift sanctions imposed on Russia concerning oil and gas imports, citing concerns over soaring energy prices and potential economic damage to Europe.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs Péter Szijjártó announced on Monday that Hungary is proposing the immediate revocation of sanctions against Moscow in the oil and gas sectors. This proposal comes amid escalating global tensions and a sharp rise in energy costs.

Szijjártó emphasized that the European Union must take swift action to prevent a severe surge in prices by immediately lifting restrictions on Russian energy imports. He warned that failure by Brussels to remove these sanctions and limitations will inflict significant damage on the European economy due to the continuous increase in energy prices.

The Hungarian Foreign Minister attributed his call for lifting sanctions to the rising tensions in West Asia.
