Macron Calls for Halt to Iranian Regional Attacks After Talks with President Pezeshkian

French President Emmanuel Macron has publicly called for an immediate cessation of Iran’s attacks on regional countries, following a conversation with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. Iran has denied targeting neighboring nations, stating its actions were directed at U.S. interests.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, French President Emmanuel Macron, in a message posted in Persian on the social media platform X, stated that he had spoken with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and urged an immediate halt to Iran’s attacks on regional countries. This statement did not reference alleged attacks by the United States and the Israeli regime on Iran.

Iran has consistently denied launching attacks against regional countries, emphasizing that its operations are directed against U.S. bases and interests, not against neighboring states.

Macron also asserted that France is acting within a “strictly defensive” framework to protect its own interests, its regional partners, and freedom of navigation. He cautioned that unchecked escalation of tensions could plunge the region into chaos with severe consequences.

The French President further claimed that only a new political and security framework can guarantee lasting peace.
