UK Deploys Fighter Jets to Romania Amid NATO Patrols

The United Kingdom has stationed fighter jets in Romania to bolster NATO’s air patrol mission, with its Defense Secretary indicating further military reinforcement if necessary. This deployment follows a recent incident involving a Russian-made drone that entered Romanian airspace.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the United Kingdom has deployed its fighter jets to Romania as part of NATO’s air patrol mission. This announcement was made by UK Defense Secretary John Healey in response to a recent drone incident.

Healey emphasized that the UK would enhance its military presence in Romania in collaboration with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, should the need arise. This move underscores the ongoing commitment to collective security within the alliance.

Local media reports indicate that a Russian-made drone, reportedly targeting sites in Ukraine near the border, recently entered Romanian airspace. The unmanned aerial vehicle subsequently crashed into a 10-story residential building in the city of Galați, located in eastern Romania.
