Hezbollah Enhances Suicide Drone Capabilities with Thermal Cameras, Alarms Israeli Military

The Israeli military has acknowledged that Hezbollah has significantly boosted its offensive capabilities by equipping suicide drones with thermal imaging cameras, enabling nighttime attacks on Israeli forces and equipment.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Israeli military has admitted that Hezbollah of Lebanon has escalated its offensive power through the use of suicide drones, notably by fitting them with thermal cameras. This advancement allows Hezbollah to target Israeli forces and military equipment even in darkness.

The Israeli army stated that Hezbollah’s deployment of thermal cameras on its suicide drones grants the group the ability to effectively target Israeli military personnel and assets during nighttime operations.

The Israeli website ‘Ynet’ revealed that this progress by Hezbollah has caused considerable concern among Israeli military officials, prompting immediate tactical adjustments within the army.

Two separate incidents documented the deaths of two Israeli soldiers during nocturnal drone attacks, underscoring Hezbollah’s enhanced proficiency in employing these drones. The group demonstrates the capacity to skillfully utilize these drones in darkness, overcoming technical challenges posed by the added weight of cameras, which typically reduce flight time and maneuverability.

In response to this evolving threat, the Israeli military has implemented rapid tactical changes. As a measure, the army has drastically reduced the deployment of heavy military machinery, particularly large troop carriers and bulldozers, in southern Lebanon. These vehicles had become vulnerable targets for Hezbollah’s drones.

Furthermore, the Israeli military has curtailed its movements, with soldiers instructed to avoid remaining in fixed positions. The Israeli army is also broadening the scope of its operations in an effort to disrupt Hezbollah’s capacity to launch drones towards Israeli towns in the north.
