Bulgaria Halts Arms Shipments to Ukraine, Citing Need for Peace Talks

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Bulgaria‘s new defense minister, Dimitar Stoyanov, announced on Tuesday that the country has no plans to increase its arms shipments to Ukraine. Stoyanov stated that continued military aid to Kyiv would only result in increased human casualties.
The defense minister elaborated that Ukraine requires more people, not more weapons, as the country is sufficiently armed. He emphasized that the conditions for peace should be determined by the conflicting parties themselves. “We have previously stated clearly that the war in Ukraine will not be resolved on the battlefield,” Stoyanov said. “What we are witnessing is a war of attrition, and no matter how many weapons are amassed, the only outcome is the loss of human lives.”
He further added that it is now time for the involved parties, Moscow and Kyiv, to sit down at the negotiating table and strive for a just peace.
