White House Official Confirms US-Iran Talks Ongoing Amid Trump’s Threats

Despite escalating threats from U.S. President Donald Trump, a senior White House official confirmed that negotiations between the United States and Iran are continuing. The White House official stated that the U.S. responded to the downing of an Apache helicopter and will pursue a maximum pressure campaign to reach an agreement.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, a senior White House official has emphasized to Fox News that peace talks between the United States and Iran are ongoing. This statement comes in the wake of recent tensions and threats made by U.S. President Donald Trump, following what Iran described as a decisive defensive response to American aggressors.

The senior official confirmed to Fox News Digital that the negotiations are proceeding. The United States retaliated against the downing of an Apache helicopter, and President Trump intends to continue his maximum pressure strategy aimed at securing an agreement with Tehran. This assertion from the White House official indicates a continued diplomatic track, despite presidential rhetoric.

Previously, President Trump had characterized Iran’s rejection of Washington’s demands as “delaying tactics.” He had also threatened to authorize new strikes against Iran, a move that came shortly after he suggested a deal with Tehran was imminent. The Islamic Republic of Iran has consistently maintained that it will respond decisively to any military action undertaken by the United States.

The U.S. President has a history of employing strong rhetoric against Iran, including previous threats to target infrastructure. However, he has also withdrawn from such threats. Iranian military and political officials have repeatedly affirmed, as demonstrated in practice, that any act of aggression by an adversary will not go unanswered and will be met with a firm and regrettable response.
