Israel Establishes 40 New Military Bases in Gaza Amidst Escalating Conflict

An Israeli military analyst revealed that the Israeli army has constructed 40 new military bases within the Gaza Strip, aimed at housing joint combat teams and enhancing its presence amidst ongoing military operations.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Israeli military expert Ron Ben-Yishai has warned of a major catastrophe facing the Gaza Strip due to the Israeli army’s actions, stating that the Israeli military continues to strengthen its presence and conduct military operations distinct from those in the Suez Canal or southern Lebanon.

Ben-Yishai, who recently visited Gaza with the support of the Israeli army, added that a real time bomb and a long-term threat exists beneath Gaza, comprising 2.2 million Palestinians living in inhumane conditions.

He elaborated that approximately 400,000 Palestinians are currently living in concentrated areas, residing in tents and rooms constructed from nylon and metal sheets, primarily within semi-destroyed buildings.

Ben-Yishai expressed surprise at the Israeli army’s military measures and equipment in areas under its control in the Gaza Strip, noting that these areas constitute approximately 64 percent of Gaza’s area and are currently uninhabited.

He revealed that the Israeli army has built 40 new bases within the Gaza Strip, all designated for accommodating joint combat teams of varying sizes from armored, infantry, and military engineering forces. Most of these bases, particularly in the northern Gaza Strip, have been completed, while some are still under construction. The cost of each base exceeds one million dollars.

The Israeli analyst added that the military base he visited overlooks the ruins and remnants of buildings in the village of Bani Suhaila, east of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip.

He stated that these bases are not directly on the ‘Green Line’ but are located a few hundred meters inside the army-controlled zone. The objective is to prevent any attempts at direct infiltration or through tunnels and to reduce the bases’ exposure to direct fire from short distances.

He pointed out that the directives for the occupation army soldiers are: ‘Any Palestinian who crosses this road must be stopped or killed.’

Ben-Yishai explained that the Israeli army is establishing a warning and protection zone hundreds of meters wide between the bases and the Green Line, and a trench is currently being dug along this area to prevent any rapid incursions by motorcycles, small trucks, or other vehicles towards Israeli-controlled areas.

The Israeli analyst noted that the regime’s army is continuing excavation and exploration operations to detect tunnels, aiming to prevent any surprises that stationed forces might face in their positions or during movement in the area.

He simultaneously explained that roadside bombs and mines planted on movement routes are the primary source of concern for Israeli soldiers, which is why most roads leading to military positions, as well as the connecting roads between them, have been paved.
