Hamas Demands Review of Conditions for Freed Palestinian Prisoners

Hamas has called for an immediate review of the ‘difficult humanitarian situation’ facing some freed Palestinian prisoners who have been exiled to foreign countries, citing recent images that highlight their suffering.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas has reacted to what it described as the “difficult humanitarian situation” of a number of freed Palestinian prisoners who have been exiled to several foreign countries, demanding urgent attention to their circumstances.

Hazem Qasem, a spokesperson for Hamas, stated in a communiqué that recently released images depicting the conditions of these freed prisoners clearly illustrate the extent of the suffering and difficulties these individuals are facing after their release from the prisons of the Zionist regime.

He emphasized that the Palestinian prisoners are symbols of the Palestinian people’s struggle and have spent years of their lives in the prisons of the Zionist regime. Therefore, addressing their situation should be a priority for Palestinian institutions.

The Hamas spokesperson also urged Mahmoud Abbas, the President of the Palestinian Authority, to reconsider decisions related to the freed prisoners and to revoke the policy of reducing their financial rights and benefits.

These reactions come in the wake of images and videos circulating on social media platforms, showing some freed Palestinian prisoners encountering livelihood challenges in several Arab countries. This situation has prompted calls for support for them among Palestinian public opinion.
