Maariv: Turkey Poses Greater Threat to Israel Than Iran, Citing NATO’s Second-Largest Army

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Israeli newspaper Maariv has reported that Turkey poses a greater and more dangerous threat to the Israeli regime than Iran. This assessment is largely based on Turkey’s control over the second-largest army in NATO and its defense industry, which has achieved 80% self-sufficiency and experienced rapid military advancements in recent years.
The report suggested a perceived decrease in the level of agreements between Washington and Tel Aviv, noting that Israel has not yet fully come to terms with the shock of President Trump’s shift in stance regarding developments in Lebanon. It further indicated that Israel may be unprepared to confront a new challenge that could be more perilous than that posed by Iran.
Maariv elaborated on Turkey’s military capabilities, stating that the Turkish army possesses a substantial number of tanks, fighter jets, and attack helicopters, alongside submarines and vessels specifically designed for amphibious assaults. The newspaper’s analysis implies that no countries in the region are entirely safe from the threat of attacks by “Zionist aggressors.” This comes after a previous instance where an Israeli minister called for an attack on Syria.
