According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, a 6.1 magnitude earthquake struck the shores of Japan’s Honshu island early Sunday morning, as reported by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre and cited by Russia Today via Mehr News Agency. Currently, there have been no reports of potential casualties or any tsunami warnings being issued.
Honshu is the second most populous island in the world, surpassed only by Java island in Indonesia. This significant island serves as a natural barrier, separating the Sea of Japan, located to its north and west, from the vast Pacific Ocean to its south and east.
