Iranian President Thanks Iraq for Hosting Martyr Leader’s Body

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian took to social media to extend his appreciation to the government and people of the Republic of Iraq. In a message posted in Arabic on the X platform, Pezeshkian conveyed his heartfelt thanks to his “dear brothers,” referring to Iraqi Prime Minister Nazir Amiri and President Ali Zaydi, as well as other Iraqi officials and particularly the “great and civilized Iraqi nation” and its religious authorities and scholars, who hosted the body of Iran’s “martyr leader.”

Pezeshkian stated that the events during the funeral procession were a “sign of your Islamic and Arab dignity.” He attributed this noble conduct to the “love for Amir al-Mu’minin and Sayyid al-Shuhada.” The Iranian president emphasized that the “martyr leader” had consistently underscored the spirit of brotherhood between the people and government of Iran and Iraq.

He assured that the Iranian people would not forget the “support, scenes, and moments of this magnificent funeral.” Pezeshkian expressed hope that, drawing upon the deep bonds of brotherhood, culture, and religion, the bilateral relations between the two countries would continue to expand and deepen.
