U.S. Imposes New Sanctions on Iran-Linked Network

The U.S. Department of the Treasury has announced new sanctions targeting seven individuals and entities accused of facilitating an international network that supports Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in procuring weapons.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has sanctioned seven individuals and entities involved in an international network supporting procurement efforts on behalf of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). The U.S. Treasury Department, in a hostile statement, asserted that the sanctioned individuals exemplify Iran’s use of foreign aviation and transportation companies, financial channels, and travel coordinators to conceal the IRGC’s role in procuring and moving materials and personnel globally. The sanctioned parties include individuals and entities from Russia, Italy, and Nigeria, according to the U.S. Treasury Department’s website.
