Erbil International Airport Halts Flights After Explosions

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, all flights at Erbil International Airport, the main gateway to the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, have been halted. This decision comes in the wake of multiple explosions that were heard across the city of Erbil.

News media reported moments before the incident that a drone attack targeted an area near the U.S. consulate in Erbil.

Al Mayadeen’s correspondent in Iraq reported hearing several explosions in Erbil and the activation of U.S. air defense systems in the city.
