China Urges U.S. Respect for Core Interests and One-China Principle

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, China has requested that the United States respect its core national interests. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi urged the U.S. to uphold the ‘One-China’ principle and responsibly manage differences, while also acknowledging Beijing’s legitimate concerns.

The Chinese Foreign Minister cautioned that capitalizing on the ‘window of opportunity’ in bilateral relations requires mutual respect and practical actions from both sides. He made these remarks during a meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio on the sidelines of the ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ meeting in Manila.
