According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the government of Venezuela has summoned Iran’s ambassador to Caracas, presenting a note of protest over what it termed “inappropriate and offensive” positions taken by Tehran against the country’s institutions and officials. Venezuelan officials did not specify the nature of these statements. However, some media outlets have pointed to remarks by Iran’s Foreign Minister in response to negotiations with the United States, stating that Iran is not Venezuela.
