It is stated in this letter: The Islamic Republic of Iran, as one of the main victims of terrorism, in the implementation of its inherent right to defend itself based on international laws and the United Nations Charter, has carried out anti-terrorist operations. Did. This operation includes targeted attacks against bases and facilities of terrorist groups based in Syria and Iraq.

This letter adds: In the early hours of January 16, 2024, the anti-terrorist operation simultaneously fired several ballistic missiles, precisely the facilities of ISIS and Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, two known terrorist organizations, in Idlib and the region. It was done under their occupation in the northeast of the Syrian Arab Republic. In addition, a spy center used by anti-Iranian terrorist groups linked to the Israeli regime was targeted in Erbil, Kurdistan Region of Iraq. This center has been used as a base for intelligence and subversive operations in Iran.

The letter of the representative of Iran states: Iran’s anti-terrorism operation was carried out in response to the recent heartbreaking terrorist attacks in Kerman. which led to the martyrdom of more than 100 innocent civilians, including children and women, and the wounding of many others, and terrorist groups related to ISIS had taken responsibility for it. Fortunately, the reprehensible terrorist attacks in Kerman were strongly and unanimously condemned by the members of the United Nations Security Council.
