Trump Prioritizes Economic Pressure Over Military Action Against Iran

President Donald Trump announced that the United States is focusing on increasing economic pressure against Iran, rather than pursuing immediate military intervention, following months of sanctions and blockades.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, …

President Donald Trump stated on Sunday that the U.S. administration is closely monitoring the escalation of economic pressure on Iran, following months of sanctions and blockades, and currently has no plans for further military action.

In a phone interview with Axios, Trump commented, “We are handling this situation calmly. We have limited negotiations with them and are simply observing Iran’s situation in light of its severe inflation and financial resource shortages.”

He added that Iran is in a “very bad economic state” and lacks sufficient resources even to pay its military personnel.

These remarks come a week after Trump was reportedly on the verge of ordering a resumption of hostile actions and a broad attack against Iranian targets. However, in his recent interview with Axios, he did not issue any new military threats.

Regarding negotiations with Tehran, the U.S. President remarked, “These negotiations will be successful; they always are. Negotiations are like a chess game.”

In a similar interview with Israel’s Channel 12, Trump claimed that the U.S. administration has currently postponed extensive military actions, focusing instead on intensifying economic pressure and de-escalating tensions in its dealings with Tehran.

The report indicates that the U.S. administration is increasingly relying on the worsening economic conditions, rising public discontent, and internal divisions within Iran, while American naval blockades persist.

U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance told Fox News on Saturday, “We are in the midst of this game and are utilizing a full spectrum of diplomatic, economic, and military tools to achieve the best outcome for the American people.”
