Israeli Media Claims Significant Troop Drawdown in Gaza

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, media circles within the Israeli regime claim that it is preparing for a significant reduction in the number of occupation army forces in the Gaza Strip, with numbers nearly returning to the level seen before October 7, 2023.

Hebrew media reports, including from Israel’s Channel 14, suggest this approach signifies a notable change in the deployment pattern of Israeli soldiers in the Gaza Strip.

The report indicates that the most significant part of this plan is the end of the mission for the 99th Division of the Israeli army. Currently, two military divisions are operating in Gaza, but following the completion of the 99th Division’s operational period, no other unit will replace it.

This extensive troop reduction coincides with discussions within Israeli military institutions regarding limited withdrawal plans and initial preparations for the formation of an international force.

This move comes as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reiterated his opposition to withdrawing from the Gaza Strip before the complete disarmament of the Hamas movement. This approach is also linked to logistical pressures and internal challenges within the Israeli army, including a shortage of personnel and the ongoing crisis of reserve force call-ups.
