18 Israeli Soldiers Die by Suicide Since Start of 2026

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Israeli media outlets have released statistics revealing that at least 18 Israeli soldiers have committed suicide since the start of the current year. The figures were reported by the Israeli newspaper Haaretz, citing the Shihab News Agency.
Haaretz reported that a pilot training student in the Israeli army took his own life at a military base in the southern occupied territories just yesterday. This incident follows a trend of increasing suicides among Israeli military personnel, with two female active-duty soldiers and one reserve soldier reportedly committing suicide in the past month alone.
Based on available data and follow-up investigations, Haaretz indicated that the number of suicides among Israeli soldiers has reached at least 18 since the beginning of 2026. This figure reportedly includes only officially announced cases, suggesting the actual number may be higher.
Existing data points to a rise in suicide cases within Israel’s military and security apparatus. This trend has reportedly intensified since the commencement of hostilities on October 7, 2023.
