UAE Diplomat: Middle East Cannot Remain in Perilous ‘No War, No Peace’ State

Anwar Gargash, senior diplomatic advisor to the UAE President, stated that the Middle East must transition from its current state of neither war nor peace, emphasizing that regional stability and the future of its people require clarity in vision and direction.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Anwar Gargash, senior diplomatic advisor to the President of the United Arab Emirates, has stated that the Middle East cannot remain indefinitely in a state of ‘no war, no peace.’ He emphasized that regional stability and the future of its people necessitate transparency in outlook and direction.

In a post on X, Gargash wrote that the coming phase cannot be built on shaky foundations or arrangements separate from international law. He articulated that the objective is a transition towards lasting stability governed by clear and shared rules.

Gargash also underscored the principles of peaceful coexistence, respect for sovereignty, and the logic of peace as fundamental pillars for any sustainable agreement. These remarks come at a time when the region continues to grapple with ongoing tensions, attributed to what the report describes as US transgressions and obstruction in negotiations. Diplomatic efforts to revive understandings remain unresolved, with both sides reportedly warning of a potential return to confrontation.
