Qatar Reports Advanced Negotiations Between Oman and Iran on Strait of Hormuz

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the spokesperson for Qatar‘s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Majid Al-Ansari, stated that negotiations between Oman and Iran have progressed to an advanced stage. He indicated that Qatar has received positive responses from both Omani and Iranian sides, emphasizing that the talks are at a critical juncture. Al-Ansari reiterated Qatar’s support for all endeavors aimed at reducing tensions.
The spokesperson confirmed that the ongoing discussions between Iran and Oman concerning the Strait of Hormuz are continuing. Qatar, he added, backs any proposed solution that guarantees the security of the Strait of Hormuz and ensures freedom of navigation, preventing its use as a tool for political pressure. As a mediator, Qatar desires the prompt reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
He further emphasized that regional security is a collective responsibility requiring joint regional coordination.
In separate remarks concerning Gaza, the Qatari spokesperson stated that the nation continues its efforts in coordination with the United States and regional partners to implement the Gaza agreement. Qatar relies on the international community to exert pressure on Israel to fulfill the terms of the Gaza agreement.
