Iraq’s Prime Minister Vows to Prevent Use of Territory Against Neighbors

Iraqi Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi, has asserted that Iraq’s territory will not be allowed to serve as a launching point for attacks against neighboring countries, emphasizing the protection of national sovereignty and security.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Iraqi Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi, during an overnight visit to the operations center of the country’s Air Defense Command, stressed the necessity of safeguarding Iraq’s sovereignty and national security. Al-Zaidi stated that Iraq’s skies and sovereignty are symbols, and the country will not permit its airspace to be violated or its security compromised by any party. He added that while Iraq strives to protect its national security and sovereignty, it will not allow its land or skies to become a starting point for attacks against neighboring nations. The Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi Armed Forces emphasized that Iraq’s role contributes to strengthening regional security and stability, and the Iraqi armed forces stand as a robust bulwark for the protection of the country, its sovereignty, and its national decisions. Al-Zaidi concluded by saying that air defense is the shield of Iraq’s skies and the first line of defense for its sovereignty, and the establishment of capable armed forces is a fundamental pillar in consolidating Iraq’s sovereignty and enhancing its ability to make independent political and military decisions.
