Former Mossad Official: Military Defeat of Iran Impossible, Economic Pressure Key

A former head of a key Mossad unit has stated that militarily defeating Iran is impossible, asserting that only suffocating economic pressure can achieve this objective. He noted that the United States and Israel are now paying the price for a decade of neglecting Iran’s economic issues.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, a former head of the “Tzalazal” unit within Israel’s Mossad intelligence service, Odi Levi, has declared that militarily defeating Iran is an impossibility. Levi emphasized that the only viable path to achieving this goal is through the imposition of crippling economic pressure.

Levi further observed that the United States and the Israeli regime are currently confronting the consequences of ten years of inattention to Iran’s economic affairs, a period during which Washington and Tel Aviv allegedly disregarded strategic and sensitive information. He pointed out that Tehran began establishing a substantial financial infrastructure as early as 2015.

The former Mossad official elaborated that Washington recognizes its inability to launch a comprehensive military campaign due to a lack of full European cooperation, insufficient intelligence from Israel, incomplete alignment with Persian Gulf states, and Russia’s close ties with Iran. He explained that to circumvent these limitations, the U.S. Treasury Department monitors Iran’s financial and logistical infrastructure, aiming to compel Tehran into expending its resources on complex money transfer processes.

Levi also issued a warning regarding the strategic utilization of digital currencies by nations such as Iran, Russia, and North Korea, highlighting that oversight and control over these virtual currencies remain weak.
