US Military General Admits Weakness Against Mass Drone Attacks

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, U.S. Army General Joseph Gerard, Deputy Commander of U.S. Northern Command, has stated that the United States is currently incapable of countering a mass drone attack within its own territory. In response to a question regarding the nation’s readiness for such a scenario, Gerard responded with a definitive ‘no.’

Gerard elaborated that the U.S. lacks the requisite sensors to detect such threats, and depending on the intended targets, there may be no sensor coverage at all. He further highlighted the dependence on specific equipment to counter this emerging threat, concluding that the U.S. is not adequately equipped to deal with such an eventuality at present.

The general noted the increasing prevalence of drone attacks globally, stating, “We are witnessing the use of these types of attacks, and we see it every day around the world.” He emphasized the urgent need to find a way to mitigate this threat, acknowledging that the nation has not yet reached that objective.

Gerard identified the primary challenge as drone identification, characterizing the methods for detecting these unmanned aerial vehicles as one of the most significant concerns for U.S. Northern Command.
