Virginia State University Shooting Leaves Five Injured

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, a shooting incident at Virginia State University (VSU) in the early hours of Saturday left five people injured, one of whom is in critical condition, as reported by ABC News citing VSU officials.

The incident led to a campus-wide lockdown, with all entrances and exits secured. The university’s communications office stated that the shooting occurred near the Quad Annexes, along Boisseau Street.

Police were dispatched to the 3300 block of Boisseau Street around 1:30 AM local time, where they discovered five individuals who had been shot in the exterior area of the university dormitories. All five were transported to local hospitals. According to Chesterfield County Police, one victim’s condition is critical, while the other four sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Virginia State University announced on social media shortly before 5:00 AM local time that the campus was placed on lockdown following the shooting involving “several suspects.” The motive and specific details leading to the shooting have not yet been determined.
