Yemen’s Political Council Warns Saudi Arabia Against Escalation

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, a senior member of Yemen‘s Supreme Political Council has issued a severe warning to Riyadh, stating that any continued military movements and efforts to impose new equations in the country will be met with a necessary reaction to protect Yemen, its security, and its sovereignty. The statement was reported by Al-Masirah, citing Mehr News Agency.
Abdulaziz bin Habtour, a member of the Supreme Political Council, pointed to the ongoing activities of Saudi Arabia, characterizing them as part of an escalating trend. He noted that severe economic and political pressures, along with a stringent blockade, had previously been imposed on Yemen, indicating that the option of escalating tensions remains on the table.
Furthermore, Bin Habtour cautioned against attempts to transfer conflict to within Yemen through local forces and groups. He emphasized that the use of such tools would not absolve Saudi Arabia of its responsibility for the consequences of such actions.
The Yemeni official stressed that Yemeni territories cannot be allowed to become a battlefield for conflict and confrontation while Saudi Arabia’s land and interests remain safe from the repercussions of such a showdown.
