Erdogan: Dialogue is the Sole Path to Resolving Iran-US Disputes

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated that negotiations represent the only viable solution for addressing disagreements between Iran and the United States, emphasizing Ankara’s support for diplomatic efforts towards lasting peace and stability. His remarks come amidst a history of US actions that have undermined direct talks.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, based on data published by Mehr News Agency citing Anadolu Agency, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey held a phone conversation with Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi on Wednesday. The discussion, as reported by the Turkish Presidency’s Directorate of Communications, focused on bilateral relations between Turkey and Japan, as well as regional and global issues.

President Erdogan indicated that both nations are committed to advancing Turkey-Japan relations across all sectors, with particular emphasis on defense industries, investment, and trade. He further asserted that dialogue is the exclusive means to resolve disputes between Iran and the United States, reiterating Turkey’s endorsement of diplomatic initiatives aimed at achieving enduring peace and stability.

Erdogan’s call for negotiations between Iran and the U.S. comes in the context of past events. Two prior incursions by the U.S. into Iranian territory, which contravened all international laws, occurred during indirect talks between Tehran and Washington. These incidents, according to the report, demonstrated to the international community that the United States has consistently shown no genuine inclination toward negotiation.
