Oman Links Strait of Hormuz Shipping Security to Regional Stability

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Oman’s Foreign Minister, Badr Albusaidi, stated on Thursday that secure navigation for ships through the Strait of Hormuz is directly linked to regional stability and cannot be considered independently. This declaration from Muscat follows recent reports by The Wall Street Journal, citing unnamed U.S. officials, which suggested advancements in negotiations between Iran and Oman aimed at facilitating increased maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz.
The American officials reportedly claimed that these discussions between Iran and Oman could alleviate pressure on the global energy market. However, they also acknowledged that any agreement reached between the two nations might inadvertently strengthen Tehran’s control over the strategic Strait of Hormuz.
