US Army Secretary Dan Dailey Preparing to Resign Amid Tensions

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, data published by Mehr News Agency, citing The Wall Street Journal, indicates that U.S. Army Secretary Dan Dailey is preparing to depart the Donald Trump administration. This action is reportedly occurring after months of disagreements and tensions with acting Secretary of Defense Mark Esper.

Several individuals familiar with the matter told The Wall Street Journal on Friday that Dailey expects to step down from his post before the end of the current calendar year, and his departure may even occur sooner than anticipated.

Dailey’s potential resignation could precipitate further changes at the highest levels of the U.S. Army’s command structure.

Previously, Esper abruptly dismissed General Randy George, the Army Chief of Staff, in April. President Trump has not yet nominated a permanent replacement for this position.

Currently, General Christopher Latney, who previously served as Esper’s senior military assistant, is temporarily undertaking the duties of the Army Chief of Staff.
