Turkey’s Defense Ministry Declares Israel’s Stance Major Obstacle to Regional Peace

Ankara’s Ministry of Defense has stated that the aggressive stance and expansionist policies of Israel in Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria are the primary impediments to lasting peace and stability in the region.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Turkey‘s Ministry of Defense announced on Thursday that the aggressive stance and expansionist policies of the Israeli regime in the Gaza Strip, Lebanon, and Syria continue to be the biggest obstacle to achieving lasting peace and stability in the region.

Zeki Aqtürk, spokesperson for the ministry, emphasized during a press conference in Afyonkarahisar province, western Turkey, that the future of the region cannot be built on the unilateral use of force.

He added that peace must be based on security that respects international law, the sovereignty of nations, and their territorial integrity.

Aqtürk urged the international community to take tangible and effective measures regarding Israel’s actions, which threaten regional and international peace and stability.

He also referenced the ongoing international legal proceedings against Israel concerning genocide accusations.

The spokesperson for the Turkish Ministry of Defense affirmed that the Turkish Armed Forces, through their deterrent capabilities and strengthened cooperation with friendly and allied nations, continue to contribute to supporting security, peace, and stability at regional and international levels.

The Israeli regime’s aggressions in the Gaza Strip and its escalating provocations in several regional countries, including Lebanon and Syria, are ongoing.
