Strait of Hormuz Shipping Traffic Drops Sharply Amid Regional Tensions

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, maritime reports published on Monday indicate a sharp decrease in the number of vessels observed transiting the Strait of Hormuz, with only five ships sighted passing through the vital waterway.

This reduction in shipping traffic follows an even lower volume in recent days, with just three vessels recorded on Saturday and a mere two on Sunday. The decline occurs despite claims by U.S. President Donald Trump that shipping traffic in the Strait of Hormuz had returned to normal and that millions of barrels of oil were being exported through the passage.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has repeatedly stated that maritime navigation in the Strait of Hormuz has been disrupted due to U.S. aggressions against the country and provocations in the Persian Gulf region.
