Israel Expresses Concern Over Potential Makkah Accord Expansion

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, The Jerusalem Post, an Israeli newspaper, has reported that the potential increase in member states to the Makkah Defense Accord, and Egypt’s possible accession, could lead to regional consequences detrimental to the Israeli regime. The report, published under the headline ‘What if Iran, Egypt, and Bangladesh Join the Makkah Accord?’, suggests that an expansion of membership would not only broaden the scope of the agreement but also significantly enhance its geographical reach and political and military weight.

Aviv Winter, a researcher at the Israeli regime’s Institute for National Security Studies, emphasized that Egypt is still evaluating its potential membership in the accord. While Egypt maintains a peace treaty with the Israeli regime, it also holds diplomatic ties with Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and the Persian Gulf states. The accession of other nations to this agreement could transform it from an nascent defense framework into an extensive security network.
