North Korea Declares Nuclear Weapons Essential for Sovereignty, Cites U.S. Hostility

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, North Korea‘s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has declared that its nuclear weapons are an absolute guarantee of the country’s sovereignty and that it will continue to enhance them. The ministry emphasized that the United States’ hostile policies toward North Korea remain unchanged, rendering any hopes for de-escalation in the region futile. The ministry further stated that the nation’s nuclear situation will never be weakened by repeated U.S. demands for denuclearization.

Previously, the sister of North Korea’s leader and head of the General Department of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea had stressed that North Korea continuously updates its nuclear weapon capabilities without any pause. She added that nuclear power is the primary guarantee for supporting the nation’s sovereignty and security.
