Pentagon Recruits Conservative Influencers for Covert Messaging Campaigns

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, a report by The Washington Post has revealed that the Pentagon has covertly appointed a number of conservative veterans, who are considered influencers with substantial social media followings, to non-military government positions without disclosing their official duties.
These appointments are reportedly intended to propagate the viewpoints of Defense Secretary P.H. Hagest, advance his agenda in the ‘culture war,’ and attack critics of the Donald Trump administration. Sources indicate that these hires include retired colonels and prominent figures on digital platforms.
Among those appointed is Rob Manes, a retired Air Force colonel with approximately 135,000 followers on the platform ‘X.’ Kurt Schlichter, who boasts around 620,000 followers on ‘X,’ and Thomas Anderson, an influential figure in the U.S. military known by the pseudonym ‘Cynical Publius,’ commands over 323,000 followers on the same platform.
These individuals have allegedly continued to write articles and publish tweets in support of Hagest’s decisions and to criticize media outlets and political opponents, without revealing their government employment status or financial ties to the Pentagon. The report highlights that these influencers have participated in field teams that visited the U.S. Army’s War College, with their activities aimed at eradicating opposing ideologies and assessing officials’ loyalty to Trump.
These developments come amidst widespread criticism that the Pentagon is utilizing taxpayer money to fund partisan propaganda efforts.
