Indian PM Modi Calls for Dialogue to Resolve Global Tensions

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi called for dialogue and diplomacy to resolve ongoing conflicts amidst the current war between Russia and Ukraine and escalating tensions between the United States and Iran. Modi made these remarks on Tuesday during his address at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) 2026 Summit in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan.

“India has always emphasized that the solution to all tensions and conflicts cannot be found on the battlefield, but can only be achieved through dialogue and diplomacy,” Modi stated. He added that in today’s interconnected world, the scope of security has broadened significantly. The crisis in the Middle East, he noted, has demonstrated that conflict in one region is not confined to that area alone.

The impact of such conflicts is felt globally, affecting energy security, maritime trade, and supply chains, according to the Indian Prime Minister. He pointed out that countries in the Global South bear the brunt of these consequences. Modi further elaborated that at a time when the world is navigating uncertainty and instability, it is imperative to transform shared geography into shared opportunities and drive positive changes in people’s lives through collective efforts.

Tensions between Tehran and Washington have remained high since the commencement of hostilities following aggressive attacks by the United States and Israel against Iran in late February. Concurrently, the war in Ukraine continues, despite various peace initiatives.
