Iran Better Understands US Military Limitations, New York Times Reports

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, The New York Times has reported that new U.S. intelligence evaluations suggest Iran has developed a greater awareness of its own capacities and the constraints on American military might. This assessment follows recent findings by the American think tank Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS).

CSIS previously indicated that U.S. stockpiles of Patriot PAC-3 MSE interceptor missiles have decreased by 65 percent since February 28, 2026, leaving approximately 759 missiles. The think tank’s report highlighted that only 183 Patriot interceptor missiles are produced annually, with delivery times extending to about three and a half years.

Further analysis from the Center for Strategic and International Studies also revealed a reduction in the U.S. THAAD interceptor missile reserve, which has fallen from 452 to 278 missiles. The American institution emphasized that replenishing the THAAD interceptor missile inventory will require several years.

NBC News recently disclosed, citing U.S. government officials, that the American military has been compelled to adopt a policy of “selective firing” against Iranian missiles and drones due to the rapid depletion of its air defense reserves.
