Democratic Ohio Gubernatorial Candidate Targeted in Election Event Attack

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, a man was arrested after he charged at Amy Acton, the Democratic candidate for governor of Ohio, during an election event in the state. The incident took place at the Canfield Fairgrounds, according to media reports cited by the Mehr News Agency.

Mahoning County Sheriff Jerry Greene stated that the attacker, identified as 38-year-old Patrick Huse of Ohio, was apprehended while moving towards several individuals, including two seniors in electric wheelchairs. Greene added that the suspect was armed with two firearms and a bladed weapon, but members of the security team managed to subdue and detain him before law enforcement officers arrived.

Wayne Penny Jr., a Democratic candidate for the Ohio House of Representatives, reported that protesters had gathered at the Democratic Party tent when one individual suddenly surged from the crowd towards Acton. Vivek Ramaswamy, a Republican candidate for Ohio governor, described the incident as “completely unacceptable.” The Governor of Ohio, expressing relief over Acton’s safety, emphasized that violence has no place in political events.
