Saudi Arabia’s Attacks on Yemen Leave 82 Civilians Dead or Injured
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Ministry of Health of Yemen‘s caretaker government, based in Sanaa, announced on Friday night that 82 civilians have been killed or injured since September 3rd due to Saudi Arabian attacks. The ministry reported that 44 civilians, including five children, died in Saudi airstrikes targeting the provinces of Al Jawf, Hudaydah, Taiz, Saada, Sanaa, and Hajjah.
Meanwhile, a Yemeni military source informed the Yemeni Saba News Agency that concentrations of Saudi-aligned forces in eastern Al Jawf province were targeted moments ago, resulting in the destruction of dozens of vehicles and military equipment. These attacks occurred one day after four military sources from Yemen’s ousted government stated on Thursday that the Ansarullah movement had successfully gained control of the historic port city of Mokha. According to these sources, this development significantly strengthens Ansarullah’s control over the strategic Bab el-Mandeb strait, a crucial global shipping route.
Some sources within the ousted Yemeni government also confirmed that Ansarullah fighters have initiated attacks on the strategic Hanish Islands in the Red Sea. Concurrently, Saudi-aligned forces and their allies are reportedly retreating southward towards the town of Dhubab, directly adjacent to the Bab el-Mandeb strait and opposite Perim Island. Control over this area and the island is considered essential for complete dominance of this vital waterway.
In recent days, clashes between the Yemeni National Army and the coalition supporting the Saudi-aligned government have intensified, opening a new front that could impact global energy stability and security. In a related development, a military commander affiliated with Saudi-aligned forces in Yemen announced that he has ordered his troops on the western coast to establish an alternative command center in a secure location. This decision by Tariq Saleh, a senior field commander, is seen as a clear indication of Ansarullah pushing back these forces from western areas.
