Israel Worried as Yemen’s Houthi Forces Advance Rapidly

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Israeli website Walla has reported that the proximity of Yemeni Ansarullah forces to the Bab el-Mandeb Strait significantly shortens the operational distance for their missiles and drones. This enhanced capability allows the Yemeni forces to exert greater influence over the movement of vessels in this critical maritime passage.

The report further indicates that this trend is leading to an increase in shipping insurance costs, prompting some vessels to reroute around the Cape of Good Hope.

The newspaper Maariv commented on the situation, stating that the recent developments in Yemen have led to criticisms within the Israeli regime’s security circles concerning the collapse of its deterrent power. Questions have also been raised regarding the lack of regional action to halt the Ansarullah advances.

Yesterday, the Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper reported that the ramifications of these developments extend beyond Yemen, with Saudi Arabia now at the center of the escalating tensions. This situation has intensified following the attack on the “East-West” oil pipeline, which led to its shutdown, occurring concurrently with Ansarullah’s progress along Yemen’s Red Sea coast.
