Canada Imposes New Sanctions on Iranian Officials and Entities

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Canada has imposed new sanctions on Iranian officials and entities, as reported by Anatolia News Agency, citing data released by Mehr News Agency.

Ottawa’s justification for this adversarial action revolves around alleged digital surveillance and other purported human rights violations.

Canada’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Anita Anand, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, “announced today that Canada is imposing sanctions on 5 individuals and 5 entities, pursuant to the Special Economic Measures (Iran) Regulations.”

Since October 2022, Canada has implemented 24 rounds of sanctions against 237 individuals and 265 Iranian entities as part of its ongoing anti-Iran measures, according to Anatolia.
