Zelensky Declares Russia Defeated, Urges Global Trade Boycott
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky declared Russia defeated and demanded an end to the “senseless war” against Ukraine during his speech at the 81st United Nations General Assembly. Speaking on Wednesday, Zelensky claimed that North Korean forces, deployed to support Russian troops, have suffered heavy casualties.
The Ukrainian president stated that Russia has only managed to occupy approximately 1,000 square kilometers of Ukrainian territory this year, a significant portion of which has been liberated. He questioned who openly supports this war, implying only one individual. Zelensky warned that greater freedom of action for Vladimir Putin escalates the danger the world faces, urging countries to halt trade with Russia.
Zelensky further alleged that from January to August of this year alone, the Russian army lost 248,964 personnel on the battlefield in Ukraine. He pointed out that the populations of 21 countries are smaller than the number of Russian soldiers killed in the past eight months. Zelensky stated that Ukraine possesses video confirmations for each Russian casualty, emphasizing that these are not mere statistics but represent human lives lost. He presented drone footage showing thousands of Russian soldiers perishing, calling it “madness” that they continue to die for Putin’s objectives. Russia, he noted, possesses 17 million square kilometers of land even without annexing any Ukrainian territories, and Putin sacrificed 248 lives for every kilometer of the 1,000 square kilometers occupied in Ukraine, questioning Putin’s rationality.
The Ukrainian president also addressed the involvement of North Korean forces, stating that Kim Jong Un, an ally of Putin, dispatched his troops to reinforce Russian army weaknesses. Zelensky reported that these North Korean forces sustained casualties and alluded to public tributes for the fallen in Pyongyang, describing the act as “insane.” He questioned why Koreans should lose their lives in the war against Ukraine, suggesting Kim Jong Un is using them as a bargaining chip for concessions. Zelensky indicated that North Korea’s neighbors and countries across Asia have likely taken notice of Pyongyang’s upgraded ballistic missiles and significantly advanced drone capabilities.
