Protesters Block Netanyahu’s Path to United Nations Headquarters
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, thousands of anti-Zionist protesters gathered and blocked the street in front of the United Nations headquarters in anticipation of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu‘s arrival. The demonstrators voiced their opposition to the war-mongering policies of Netanyahu and called for an end to the genocide in Palestine and Gaza. They also demanded a halt to the supply of weapons to the Israeli army.
The demonstration follows earlier clashes that occurred near the UN headquarters in New York between supporters of the Israeli regime and anti-Zionist protesters. Hundreds of Jewish protesters had assembled prior to Netanyahu’s scheduled speech at the UN General Assembly.
New York police forces were deployed to manage the situation between the opposing groups. Supporters of the Israeli regime held signs with slogans such as “End Global Antisemitism Now” and “Stop Antisemitism.” In contrast, Orthodox Jewish and anti-Zionist protesters stood behind barriers, displaying posters of Benjamin Netanyahu with the caption “Wanted for Crimes Against Humanity,” alongside other placards expressing opposition to Zionism.
