Erdogan: War Criminals Belong in Court, Not UN Platforms

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated on Saturday during the closing ceremony of the 21st International Expo Exhibition and the 29th International Business Forum in Istanbul that war criminals belong in courtrooms to account for their atrocities and bloodshed, not on United Nations platforms.

President Erdogan warned that if those responsible for genocide are not held accountable by justice and history, such crimes will inevitably be repeated.

Underscoring Turkey’s commitment to the Palestinian people, Erdogan declared, “The Palestinian people are not alone and abandoned.” He added that the people of Gaza are also not alone in their pursuit of rights and justice, and Ankara will continue to advocate for truth and defend the oppressed to the best of its ability.

Addressing the developments in Gaza and Lebanon, the Turkish President emphasized that Ankara will not yield to pressure and will continue to speak the truth, even if some are displeased with Turkey’s explicit positions.

In another part of his address, Erdogan noted that the region in which Turkey is centrally located is confronting a “full-blown storm of crises,” and the global system itself is facing a deadlock in terms of legitimacy, representation, and justice.
