Iraqi Defense Ministry Denies Foreign Coalition Military Presence

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Iraq‘s Defense Ministry spokesperson Yahya Rasool informed Al Jazeera today that there are no international coalition military personnel present within Iraq.

Rasool emphasized that Iraqi forces are fully capable of preserving the nation’s sovereignty. He further elaborated that the international coalition forces provided extensive air support to Iraq during its campaign against ISIS.

The Iraqi Defense Ministry spokesperson underscored that relations between Iraq and the coalition will continue in different frameworks following the withdrawal of its forces from Iraq. Previously, Sabah Al-Numan, spokesperson for the Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi Armed Forces, had announced that the withdrawal of American forces and the anti-ISIS coalition forces from Iraq would be completed on September 30, 2026.
