Morocco Appoints First Female Prime Minister Following Parliamentary Elections

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Royal Court of Morocco announced on Tuesday that King Mohammed VI officially appointed Fatima Ezzahra Mansouri, coordinator of the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM), as the country’s new Prime Minister. She has been tasked with forming the new government.

This appointment follows the recent parliamentary elections in Morocco, held on Wednesday, in which the Authenticity and Modernity Party emerged as the leading political force, securing 97 out of the 395 parliamentary seats.

Mansouri, born in Morocco in 1976, is considered a prominent figure in Moroccan law and politics. Her distinguished career includes serving as the first female mayor of Marrakesh in 2009, representing the nation in parliament, and holding the position of Minister of National Planning, Urban Development, and Housing.
