Yemen’s Mahdi al-Mashat Congratulates Iraq on US Troop Withdrawal

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Mahdi al-Mashat, President of Yemen’s Supreme Political Council, congratulated the Iraqi government on the withdrawal of American and foreign forces from Iraqi territory, citing data published by the Mehr News Agency via Al Mayadeen network.
He described the event as a historic achievement, a national victory, and the result of the Iraqi people’s resistance. Al-Mashat noted that this historic move, occurring more than two decades after the US occupation and dominance of Iraq, is a testament to the resistance, sacrifices, and efforts of the Iraqi nation and its fighters, affirming their inherent right to full sovereignty and independence.
The President of Yemen’s Supreme Political Council concluded by stating, “We value the sacrifices of the Iraqis in the path of their freedom and dignity, and we salute and pay tribute to their martyrs, wounded, and fighters.” The U.S. Department of Defense (Pentagon) officially announced the withdrawal of American troops from Iraq on Wednesday, October 1st, 2026.
