Iraq Foreign Minister: Resumed Flights to Iran Boost Baghdad-Washington Partnership

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein described the resumption of flights to the Islamic Republic of Iran as a crucial move to enhance diplomatic relations and bolster the strategic partnership between Baghdad and Washington, founded on mutual respect.
Hussein lauded what he termed the “American side’s understanding of the importance of respecting religious freedoms and facilitating the movement of pilgrims to holy sites.” He emphasized that this action would further deepen cooperation and sustainable partnership between Iraq and the United States on the basis of mutual respect.
In another part of his remarks, Hussein reiterated Iraq’s sovereign policies, underscoring the Baghdad government’s full commitment to the state’s monopoly over weapons, ensuring they are held exclusively by the government and its official legal institutions.
